I didn’t see my mystery guy again for another two weeks. The next time I finally saw him, we exchanged contacts and he told me he worked out of the state but returned to see his aged dad intermittently. We got all chatty on phone from then. As a matter of fact, we had a lot of things in common. He told me of how his mom had died of cancer and I in turn told him of how my dad had died of stroke. Because of how close we had gotten, whenever he was around, he came to pick me up from rehearsals so we could chat all through the car ride, until one day he arrived at my usual destination and I turned to open the door to go out but it was locked. I turned back to tell him the door was locked and suddenly, he kissed me!
I slapped him!…yup, you read correctly. I didn’t just slap him once, I slapped him twice.
“open this door immediately else I’ll create a scene you’ll live to regret”
I don’t know if it was the threat or the slaps that got to him first but he unlocked the door and tried to hold me back.
“don’t you dare touch me!” I scowled at him as I came down from the car slamming the door hard that heads turned in my direction.
I was furiously shaking. He sent me loads of messages apologizing and promising not to repeat such but I ignored him and when he began to pester me with calls, I blocked his line.
You wan try drama queen?
I moved on with my God and my life until two weeks later when my mystery guy resurfaced. Of course he knew my routine so when I saw a black Camry waiting at the exact spot he used to wait, I knew it was him.
The minute he saw me, he rushed down from the car and came to kneel before me on the road.
ON THE ROAD!…. people of God we were on the main road.I just thank God it was quite dark, I had never been so embarrassed. He said he wasn’t getting up until I forgave him. I forgave him instantly to avoid further embarrassment. We got into his car and he drove me home.
This man, his name was Absalom.
Absalom continued coming to pick me up whenever he was around. We got chatty again and the incident in the car never reoccurred.
But something else happened…
