His eyes are like honey, if you look into them for too long, you could get addicted. His skin is so light it earned him the name ‘oyinbo pepper ‘ . His hair is dye black in ring curls all over his head. If you don’t look closely, you’ll think he’s a baby girl.
Then his smile, girded with two deep dimples on either cheek, it seemed the light on a giant Christmas tree gets turned on each time his lips curve. He just lights up my world and I love him.

Absalom didn’t need to be told, the minute he set his eyes on Nathan, he knew that was his son. He didn’t even greet my mom because of how shocked he was.
“Hello…o, young man can you close my door?” He came back to his senses upon hearing my mother’s voice and apologized then he shut the door.
“Good afternoon ma” he greeted bowing slightly. My mom just nodded, a deep frown on her face as if she wasn’t happy with him.
“Have a seat” she handed Nathan over to me. “If you need me, I’ll be in my room” she said walking away. I made a mental note to find out what her challenge was later. Absalom sat and turned to me
“Mary-Jay, I had no idea, I mean I saw you with the baby that day at church but it just didn’t click”
“It is well” I sighed
“You must have gone through a lot, more than I imagined. I’m truly sorry, I don’t even know what to say right now”
“You don’t need to say or do anything, I just wanted you to know he exists. Would you like to carry him?”
Absalom nodded and I handed Nathan over. He almost ate up my son, I could read his excitement.
“she’s so beautiful” he cooed, I rolled my eyes. I got that a lot
“That is a boy and he looks just like you”
“A boy, I’m sorry I wouldn’t have guessed…” He was going to say something else but Nathan burped spilling slimy whitish substance all over him. I couldn’t hold my giggle
